This is the winner!!!
Yeah!! our Chocolate Chili Cupcake won the Vegan Cupcake Wars Contest that was held this past weekend in Phoenixville, PA.
We hope it helped the Peace Advocacy Network raise lots of money for their anti-bullying awareness event.
Our dark chocolate cupcake was infused with a mixture of home grown chilies given to us by our wonderful friend Lisa! The cupcake had some cayenne, purple and ghost peppers to name a few. We made vegan ganache and added a little zip to that beat it with some vegan icing and then dipped it in ganache. Our little cupcake was Gluten Free as well as Vegan!
We will have some larger versions available in the bakery soon!

Peace Fest 2012 will feature its own version of Cupcake Wars with all vegan cupcakes. Select professional bakers have been invited to compete in this competition. Virago Baking Company participated entering a Gluten Free Vegan chocolate chili cupcake.
The theme for this year’s Peace Fest is anti-bullying. Help us raise awareness while having fun!
When: Sat, September 22, 12pm – 4pm
Where: Reeves Park, Starr Street and Second Avenue, Phoenixville, PA
This event is free to the public. Enjoy generous food samples, live entertainment, exhibits, and lots of fun!

Katie is a juried nature and travel photographer, who has had her work published in books, including a photo cover. Her photography has been shown in Northern Virginia and through the Philadelphia area. Katie was trained at Elon University in North Carolina and at the Maine Photographic Summer Workshops in Rockport, Maine. Inspiration for her photography comes from bold colors, intricate design, and details. Katie uses a Canon to shoot. Currently, she is an elementary school teacher in Pennsylvania.
